Consultation

During a consultation, or series of consultations depending on your needs, we will discuss everything from the paint on the walls, to furniture, to the toys on the shelves, and the diapers and creams on the changing table. No topic is too big or too small.

First, we will help you decide exactly what you need in your nursery.

We will then provide you with our extensive list of resources so you will have healthy, green versions of everything you will need. *If you would like we can then acquire these items for you and deliver them to your home.

Finally we will help you organize the room so it's comfortable, beautiful and functional.

Consultations cover three main areas:
Green/Healthy Living, Function and
Decorating:

Green/Healthy Living
Babies’ immature organs are less able to cope with the toxins in their environment than those of adults. In addition, children enjoy touching everything around them; eventually either their hands or random objects wind up in their mouths, exposing them to even more chemicals. So paying attention to air quality and chemicals found in your home is particularly important when preparing for a new baby. However, with all the best intentions, many parents unknowingly buy furnishings and toys that contain chemicals that are unhealthy for your child and for the planet.

Many of materials we use to decorate our homes such as bed linens, curtains, carpets, mattresses, etc… can contain chemicals, such as formaldehyde, and can give off toxic fumes for years. Even toys and clothing designed for babies can contain these same toxic chemicals.

Now more than ever, stylish, healthy alternatives are available. With our up to date research we will help you determine and locate the best of what is available - guiding you to what you need (and do not need), we have found items for your nursery that are good for your baby and good for the planet.

Function
There is no better time to organize and prepare a home that supports yourself and your family than when preparing for the birth of a baby. Having a baby can be a magical time, but it can also be overwhelming. An organized, comfortable nursery can help you function with ease and grace as you go about your daily routines. Just think of the many repetitive rituals involved with caring for a baby such as changing diapers and feeding - the ease with which you perform these tasks will contribute to your sense of well-being. For example, feeding your baby eight times a day is easier when you have a comfortable sitting area, with a side table, clock, burping cloths, bottle warmer all organized and ready to go.

We will help you organize your nursery so you are prepared when your little one arrives.

Decorating
Your baby’s interactions with his room will be his first interactions with the world, so many new parents want to create a beautiful, magical, special place for their newborn. We can help you choose colors, fabrics and accessories that both you and your baby will love.
